Sunmaker Partners with CPP to Launch 3-Year Professional Training Program for Local Staff of Niger-Benin Pipeline Project

Sunmaker Energy recently partnered with China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. (CPP) as joint training implementers to launch the opening ceremony for a three-year professional systematic training program for local employees of the Niger-Benin Pipeline Project operated by CNPC Niger Company at the new office building in Niamey. The ceremony was attended by CNPC Niger Deputy General Manager Yu Yang who delivered opening remarks, along with a delegation of trainers comprising representatives from Sunmaker Energy and CPP, plus over 70 local employees from Niamey and six field stations participating in this inaugural event.

As one of the core training implementers, Sunmaker collaborated closely with China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) during the ceremony, where the HR department of the Niger-Benin Pipeline Project elaborated on the background and key components of the systematic training program for local employees. Leveraging Sunmaker’s global expertise in energy sector talent development and CPP’s specialized technical proficiency, this training program focuses on four core modules: language competency enhancement, international certification acquisition, professional technical skills strengthening, and management capability development, aiming to cultivate a multidisciplinary talent pool with both global perspectives and localized practical experience for the project.

For a long time, Sunmaker has been committed to supporting the localization of overseas energy projects through professional training programs. This collaboration with China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) in the Niger-Benin Pipeline Project training initiative is a proactive response to the localization commitments outlined in the TC agreement. Adhering to the principle of “Training First, Capacity Empowerment,” the two parties will leverage systematic course design, a professional teaching team, and practical training mechanisms to comprehensively enhance local employees’ technical, managerial, and linguistic capabilities. This effort will provide dual momentum for advancing project localization and achieving high-quality business development.

To ensure the training precisely aligns with job requirements, this program was awarded through an open tender process, where Sunmaker and China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) stood out due to their professional expertise. After conducting comprehensive competency assessments for all personnel, the training will be implemented in phases. Through customized instruction and hands-on exercises, the two parties will effectively enhance employees’ professional skills. This initiative will not only contribute to the stable operation of the Niger-Benin Pipeline Project and Niger’s national development but also lay a solid foundation for the career growth of local employees, fostering mutual progress for both individuals and the enterprise.

At the inaugural session of the training program, Sunmaker specially invited senior lecturer Mr. Khalid to systematically explain the implementation plan for job competency assessment to participants. Through dynamic PowerPoint presentations, Khalid comprehensively elaborated on the core components of the competency evaluation system – covering definitions, procedures, methodologies, and application tools. This approach helped trainees develop a systematic understanding and laid a solid foundation for the precise execution of subsequent training modules, fully demonstrating Sunmaker’s professional expertise in talent assessment and development.

The successful commencement of this opening ceremony marks the official launch of the Niger 2025 Local Employee Systematic Training Program for the Niger-Benin Pipeline Project, jointly led by Sunmaker and China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP). Moving forward, the two parties will collaborate to advance the Benin Training Program. As a professional organization deeply rooted in the energy services sector, Sunmaker will maintain close cooperation with CPP to actively support CNPC Niger in deepening its localization strategy. Together, we will empower local talent to achieve independent development and contribute professional expertise to ensure the sustainable operation of overseas energy projects.
