The Sunmaker – Global Youth Talent Development Summer Camp was Successfully Launched

From August 12 to August 17, 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting the Global Youth Talent Development Summer Camp,a collaborative effort between Sunmaker Energy Service (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. [Hereinafter referred to as Sunmaker or the Company] and China University of Petroleum (East China) [Hereinafter referred to as UPC]. The camp was a great success, bringing together twenty-one enthusiastic university students from ten esteemed institutions, including UPC, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Northeast Petroleum University, Xi’an Shiyou University, and Beijing International Studies University. At UPC, these students participated in an engaging series of lectures and diverse hands-on activities that offered valuable insights into their career strategies and professional growth.

During the opening ceremony, HAN Fengxin, Chairman of Sunmaker, expressed gratitude for his alma mater’s ongoing support in corporate advancement. He encouraged students to engage in mutual learning and collaborative growth during the summer camp and expressed optimism that they would play key roles in driving sustainable development within the Company. WANG Xiaomei, assistant to the president of UPC, delivered a warm welcome address to all attending students. She introduced UPC`s history and highlighted Sunmaker`s development process and achievements, hoping this event would strengthen cooperation between UPC and the company while wishing for a successful camp.

During the summer camp, activities included employment guidance sessions to enhance job-seeking skills; lectures by national think tank experts to broaden international perspectives; startup experience sharing to ignite students’ passion for innovation; visits to the Naval Museum to admire precious collections, the School History Museum for UPC`s rich history, and the company to witness its booming development; as well as simulated business roadshows to hone practical professional skills. The camp used a training camp + competition model that deepened students` understanding of the energy industry and the company while fostering patriotism and a global outlook.

       Additionally, this summer camp offered a variety of fun activities: icebreaking games that showcased everyone`s unique talents, a visit to International Beer City where students explored the charm of Qingdao, and beach camping that helped them build lasting friendships. WANG Shuotian from Xi’an International Studies University said, This camp gave me the wonderful opportunity to connect with confident peers, dedicated teachers and universities that nurture talents for our nation. I am truly grateful for this enriching experience provided by Sunmaker and UPC!

The Global Youth Talent Development Summer Camp, co-hosted by Sunmaker and UPC for the first time, showcases an innovative collaboration model between corporations and universities for talent selection and development. Its aim is to support the national talent strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative, broaden young people’s international perspectives, instill perseverance and dedication in college students, and enhance their practical skills.
